Kira's review of Favorite movie

My favorite movie is also the first horror movie I've ever seen. I was 14 I saw my first horror movie, Go ahead say wow, or WTF, or jesse, sheltered much. But that's exactly what it was. Growing up my mom was really into the whole keep yourself away from disgusting vial-ness that was horror flicks. My dad on the other had, saw nothing wrong with showing a 14 year old who knew the difference between real and fake, god and the devil, and right and wrong, a horror movie. So one week when I was visiting him, I watched House of A thousand Corpses. yes it's not a classic, or one to really be admired at for its thrilling talent or intellectual production. But it was gory, it was brutal and it was scary as fuck. Something that with every other horror movie, makes me never want to travel to the netherlands of down south. The grossness portrayed from beginning to end, the sickness that you could never imagine coming from a human being outside of a movie was what drew me in. I can sit and watch that movie to this day, and mind you its now been 7 years and i am now 21 years of age, and i will still close my eyes at some parts, wince at others and nearly gag at most. Yes other movies like Halloween are brilliant, even on low budget, that making them what they are. But This one movie has stuck with me for 7 years and more to come. Whether it be because it was the first nasty flick i ever saw, or just because it was the first and still first horror movie to stay in my mind as FUCKED UP, it is my favorite. I love all horror movies. But that one will always have a deep dark place just for itself.
